Overcome Plastic Waste Crisis
Due to the advancing technology today, there are various plastic packaging with convenience, durability, and good appearance, responding to consumer’s need. In the meantime, some of consumers are not aware of material use and mismanagement of plastic waste which lead to huge impact on environment.
Plastic Waste
“Plastic Waste” is the largest amount of trash around 500 billion units worldwide. Follow by “Plastic drinking straw, lids and food containers” all these wastes take more than 500 years to decompose, causing hazardous to ecology system. And when the waste breaks down into microplastic, it becomes even smaller pieces that can easily get into living creatures.
Even though, some types of plastic can be reused and recycled but the amount is quite small and must be thoroughly measured on safety and hygiene.
Waste Mismanagement in Thailand
Thailand produces 2 million ton each year, 500,000 tons can be recycled. While the rest plastic waste of 1.2 million ton, mostly are single-use plastic, are left mismanaged onto the landscape and ocean and takes hundreds year to decompose. This is the serious problem which should be immediately solved not only in Thailand, but the global scale is facing the same huge problem.
Thailand's Waste Management Plan
The government has established Roadmap to manipulate plastic waste in Thailand (2018 – 2030), aiming to create Anti-Plastic campaign for environmental sustainability.

- OXO-Degradable Plastic
- Microbeads Plastic
Plastic Ban by 2022
- Plastic bag of less than 36-micron thickness
- Foam container for food
- Plastic straws
- Plastic Beverage Cups with thickness less than 100 micron
2) Recycle 100% of the Targeted Plastic Waste in 2027
